Our fleet

Our fleet

We have 28 vessels on the water. Our fleet is diverse – built for the Speicherstadt’s low bridges and the River Elbe’s strong current – and accommodates between 114 and 250 passengers. It moves with the times, too. We are phasing out diesel-electric technology and ramping up our use of electric hybrids. Very soon, we will produce zero emissions. Brand new or well loved, each vessel has its own distinctive character – and plenty of space for commuters, day trippers, tourists and even culture vultures.

Type A

Our Kirchdorf is our oldest ship, dating back to 1962. It was built by JJ Sietas. It is known for its “unsinkable” hull and a magnificent – and almost fully glazed – panoramic view.

Our 2020-type ships are known as “irons” and make up the majority of our fleet. They were built between 1997 and 2013. The ships were developed in-house by HADAG and are designed for single-person operation, meaning that no other crew members are required apart from the captain.

Type 2020

Our Type 2020 ships are the first ships to be powered by diesel-electric engines. They were built in 2017 and 2018 by Pella Sietas. With their new propulsion system, they were the pioneers in the HADAG fleet in terms of sustainability.

Type 2030

The Neuland, Finkenwerder, and Grasbrook are our first hybrid ships and have a plug-in hybrid drive. They were built in 2024 and 2025 by the Tangermünde shipbuilding and development company.
